Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the extent to which the standards of digital citizenship, according to ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) standards, are available among female students in middle and high schools in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The researcher used a quantitative survey method, applying a questionnaire to assess the extent of digital citizenship elements among the students. The survey involved 382 female students from various middle and high schools. The questions were developed based on the four domains of digital citizenship according to ISTE standards: digital identity, ethical behavior, intellectual property, and digital privacy and security. The results revealed that the students showed a high level of awareness and application in the first two domains (digital identity and ethical behavior), along with a strong ability to use the internet. The study concluded with several recommendations, the most important of which was the need to enhance the promotion of digital citizenship, with a special focus on intellectual property rights, cybersecurity, cyberbullying, digital identity, and fostering positive online interactions.

المستخلص

سعت هذه ال دراسة إلى تقويم مدى تَوفُّر معايير المُواطَنة الرَّقمية وَفْقًا لمعايير ISTE بين طالبات المدارس المُتو سطة والثَّانوية في مدينة جدَّة بالمملكة العربية السُّعودية، وقد استخدمت الباحثة منهجَ المسح الكَ م ي، وط بَّقت استبانة لقياس مدى تَوفُّر عناصر المُواطَنة الرَّقمية بين الطَّالبات، وشارك في الاستبيان طالبة من طالبات مدارسَ مُتو سط ة وثانوية مُ تن وعة. وقد بُنيتْ أسئلة الاستبانة حول المجالات الأربعة للمُواطَنة الرَّقمية وَفْقًا لمعايير ISTE : الهُوِّيَّةِّ الرَّقمية، والسُّلوكِّ الأخلاقي، والمِّلْكيَّةِّ الفكرية، والخصوصيةِّ والأمن الرَّقمي. وقد أظهرت التَّفاعُل امتلاكَ الطَّالبات مستوً ى عاليًا من الوعي وال تَّطبيق في المَجالَين الأوَّ ل والثَّاني، وقدرة عالية على استخدام الإنترنت. وخرج البحثُ بمجموع ة من ال تَّوصِّ يات؛ أهمُّ ها تعزيزُ ال تَّرويج للمُواطَنة الرَّقمية، مع ال تَّركيز الشَّديد على حقوق المِّلْكيَّةِّ الفكرية، والأمنِّ السيبراني، والتَّنمُّرِّ الإلكتروني، والهُوِّيَّة الرَّقمية، وتعزيزِّ التَّفاعُل الإيجابي عبر الإنترنت
