Ziziphus Oxyphylla Edgew. A New Record in Arabian Peninsula from South-Western Mountains of Saudi Arabia

Abstract

For the first time, the current study identifies Zizphus oxyphylla Edgew. plant collected from southwestern mountains of Saudi Arabia, Al Hashr and Faifa. Complete morphological description for the plant, taxonomic notes, location and distribution maps, photographs for plant parts, habitats and population data are included. Data collected from published literature, formal taxonomic websites, geographical affinities, ecological similarities were reported as strong evidences which confirmed the identification of Ziziphus oxyphylla plant as a new addition to the flora of Saudi Arabia and Arabian Peninsula.
