Synthesis and Characteristics of Cerium Vanadate-Strontium Oxide: Exploring Novel Composite Material
Abstract
The study describes the synthesis and characterization of Cerium Vanadate-Strontium Oxide (CeVO4-SrO) nanocomposite. It emphasizes the importance of nanoparticles in various scientific applications, especially energy storage. The study used a hydrothermal approach with particular precursor components to synthesize the nanocomposite. The resultant materials are examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to evaluate their crystallite sizes and structural characteristics. The study found that SrO has an irregular rough shape, CeVO4 appears spherical, and the composites have a nanorod-like structure. UV-visible spectroscopy provides discrete absorbance peaks, which confirm the material's optical characteristics. The conclusion highlights SrO's thermal stability, high reactivity, and ease of synthesis. CeVO4's chemical and physical properties make it excellent for catalysis, fuel cells, and luminescence. CeVO4's specific capacity and insertion potential make it a promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries, according to the study.
