Authors Guidelines

Submission Guidelines

  • We advise authors to make online submissions for all their work for publication in the JENGSCI. Please note that the "Make a Submission" button can be used for the submission that is available on the journal’s website.
  • To make impartial decisions, JENGSCI uses a double-blind peer review policy, meaning the identities of the authors and reviewers are not revealed to each other.
  • Two outcomes are possible for your submission: the first is an immediate rejection, and the second is to send the submission for external review. After the review, the Editor-in-Chief will make a decision to revise, reject, or accept.
  • JENGSCI will try to make prompt decisions on manuscripts; however, please be patient for 8 to 10 weeks to receive the initial outcomes of your submission.
  • In case of revision, the Editor-in-Chief can send the article for review once again depending upon the intensity of the requested revision.
  • If authors fail to submit revisions in the given time, JENGSCI will treat the revision as a new submission.
  • Authors must ensure that their submission is original, and they have obtained all the necessary permissions for the use of any third-party material. They should also cite all the references in a proper way.

Manuscript Structure

  1. Title: The manuscript should have a short, concise, and informative title.
  2. Authors: The names, affiliations, full address, and emails of every author should be submitted (Author information is needed after acceptance).
  3. Abstract: A single paragraph that gives an overview of the work.
  4. Keywords: List of keywords or phrases to describe the topic, applications, and utilization of the manuscript.
  5. Introduction: The introduction presents the study in a broad context, highlights its importance, defines the purpose of conducting it, and highlights its significance.
  6. Materials and Methods: In this section, the authors should describe in detail the methods used to conduct the work and to reach their results.
  7. Results: This section provides a concise and precise description of the experimental results, their interpretation, as well as the experimental conclusions that can be drawn.
  8. Discussion: Authors should discuss the results and how they can be interpreted and compared to previous studies. The findings and their utilization should be presented, and future continuation might be suggested.
  9. Conclusions: This is an essential part of the manuscript; it could also be included in the discussion section.
  10. Nomenclature: List all the variables used in the text and give a brief description of their meaning.
  11. Funding: Please add: “This research received no external funding” or “This research was funded by NAME OF FUNDER, grant number XXX”.
  12. Acknowledgments: In this section, you can acknowledge any support given which is not covered by the author’s contribution or funding sections.
  13. Appendixes: This is an optional section to include additional details and data that may not be of interest to many readers.
  14. References: References should be numbered in order of appearance (including citations in tables and legends) and indicated in the text by a numeral or numerals in square brackets—e.g., [1] or [2,3], or [4–7]. References must be listed individually at the end of the manuscript. The authors are recommended to Include the digital object identifier (DOI) for all references where available. Please follow the following format.
