About This Journal

The Journal of King Abdulaziz University: Computing and Information Technology Sciences (JKAU-CITS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing scholarship in the digital era. Published by the Scientific Publishing Center at King Abdulaziz University, the journal aims to highlight significant progress in both the theoretical foundations and applied technologies of computing.

Scope

The journal welcomes high-quality original research, reviews, and short communications in areas including, but not limited to, artificial intelligence, software engineering, cybersecurity, data science, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The journal adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices regarding research integrity and peer review standards.

Journal History

Established in 2014, the Journal of King Abdulaziz University: Computing and Information Technology Sciences (JKAU-CITS) is an international, peer-reviewed, Open Access journal published biannually (June and December) by the Scientific Publishing Center at King Abdulaziz University.

Since its inception, the journal has been dedicated to advancing scholarship in both the theoretical foundations and applied technologies of the digital era. JKAU-CITS provides a platform for high-quality original research in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data science. The journal maintains rigorous ethical standards in accordance with COPE Core Practices to serve as a trusted reference for the global academic community.

Publishing Schedule

The journal publishes two issues per year (Biannual) in June and December.

To ensure the rapid dissemination of research, accepted articles are published electronically as "Incremental" immediately after copyediting and proofreading (typically within 45 days of acceptance), before they are assigned to a specific issue.

Editorial Office

Language

Primary Language

The publication language of the journal is English. Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct American English. We recommend defining non-standard abbreviations at their first mention and maintaining consistency in spelling throughout the text.

Arabic Requirements

As a journal published by King Abdulaziz University, we require the following components to be provided in Arabic on a separate page within the manuscript file:

  • Article Title
  • Author Names and Affiliations
  • Abstract

Language Quality and Editing

Authors who are not native English speakers are strongly advised to have their manuscripts checked by a fluent English speaker or a professional language editing service prior to submission. The Editor reserves the right to reject manuscripts or return them for revision if the language quality impedes scientific understanding.

Inclusive Language

Authors should use inclusive, respectful, and non-stigmatizing language. Writing should be free from stereotypes based on age, gender, race, culture, or ability.

Digital Archiving

The journal is preserved in CLOCKSS, the leading preservation archives that guarantee persistent access for the very long term.

Articles also receive Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) from the CrossRef organization to ensure they can always be found.
