Abstract
Prior research has established that awareness of the roles and responsibilities of medical physicists (MPs) is an indicator of radiology knowledge among students and professionals [1]. This study, therefore, set out to assess the awareness of students and professionals regarding the role of MPs in radiology departments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The sample comprised 335 participants, both male and female, holding either undergraduate or postgraduate degrees. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Participants' responses indicated strong agreement with the key statements concerning MPs' roles and responsibilities. It was also observed that the understanding of MPs' roles and responsibilities is influenced by demographic variables such as gender and educational level. Overall, the study found that students and professionals in Saudi Arabia have a strong understanding of MPs' roles and responsibilities, reflecting a sound level of knowledge of radiology practice.
