Peer Review Process
- Editor(s) Responsibility: Editor(s) will oversee and enforce the journal's double-blind peer review procedure.
- Competence of Reviewers: JKAU-Med Sci Editor(s) ensure that all accepted manuscripts are peer-reviewed by competent reviewers with relevant expertise, as evidenced by their list of publications. Editor(s) must confirm the absence of any conflicts of interest for all peer reviewers.
- Number of Reviewers: Each manuscript will be reviewed by either two independent reviewers, with no more than one reviewer nominated by the author.
- Exceptional Cases: While Editor(s) will adhere to the double-blind peer-review rules, in certain unusual or emergent situations, the Editor(s) may decide to accept a manuscript based on a single peer review statement, provided the report meets the peer-review standards of the journal.
- Peer Review Reports: Peer review responses must be in English and offer detailed, constructive evaluations of all aspects of the submitted manuscript. Editorial decisions will not be made based on brief or superficial reviewer reports.
- Special Manuscripts: Manuscripts such as book reviews, opinions, or letters to the editor may be assessed by the Editor(s) if the subject matter lies within their scientific expertise. If not, such topics should be evaluated by a single independent reviewer or assigned to a member of the Editorial or Advisory Boards.
Open Access Policy
All research articles published in the journal are fully open access and freely available to read, share, and download.
