Abstract
Electronic selling has become a fundamental aspect of contemporary life. The flexibility of Islam accommodates this practice as long as it serves the interests of the people, facilitates their lives, and does not involve anything forbidden by a definitive text or general rule. This research aims to shed light on drop shipping sales, a new type of sale that is similar to Murabaha sale which Islamic jurists have deemed lawful as they fall under the general permissibility of selling and trading to fulfill people’s needs, provided that there is no gharar, darar, or Riba involved and that regulations and laws governing such transactions must be respect, as well as elucidating the Fiqh and Zakat status of this type of electronic selling. The research concluded with a set of results and recommendations, notably the permissibility of this type of sales with the availability of controls, and the characterization of these sales as trade offers, in addition to the obligation of Zakat on them.
